ベトナム研修旅行（2025.3.24~30）

春休み中、2～5年生の生徒14名が、本学園初となるベトナム研修を果たしました。ホーチミンまでの6時間のフライトと国内線の乗り継ぎを経て、ベトナムで3番目に大きな都市、ダナンで最初の3日間を過ごしました。

ダナンでは、広大で美しいFPTキャンパスを中心に活動し、中高生たちと交流しました。さまざまな楽しい活動を通してベトナム文化を学びながら、私たちの文化も紹介し合い、ベトナムの武術「ボビナム」も体験しました。現地の皆さんからの温かい歓迎に、グループ全員が感激し、多くの新しい友達もできました。

ダナン滞在の最終日には、ベトナム最大手のソフトウェアサービス会社の一つであるFPTソフトウェアを見学しました。この企業訪問で、現地のIT産業についても理解を深めることができました。

その後、ホイアンへと移動しました。1泊の短い滞在でしたが、恵まれない子どもたちとその家族の支援を行う団体「CHIA（Children’s Hope in Action）」を訪問し子供たちと遊んだり、15世紀にさかのぼるユネスコ世界遺産のホイアン旧市街を散策したりすることもできました。

中部ベトナムでの最終日には、観光名所として有名な「ゴールデンブリッジ」があるバーナーヒルズを訪れた後、再びダナン空港からホーチミンへと向かいました。ホーチミンでは、中心部のホテルに1泊した後、1日かけて市内およびその周辺を観光しました。ベトナム戦争時代にベトコン兵士たちが掘った広大な地下トンネル「クチトンネル」や、戦争証跡博物館では深い感銘を受けました。そのほかにも、歴史的建造物であるサイゴン中央郵便局や、地元の活気ある市場「ベンタイン市場」も訪れました。

旅の締めくくりには、サイゴンスカイデッキから夜景を一望し、ホーチミンの美しい景色を楽しみました。そして、6日間にわたる忙しくも刺激的な旅を終え、名古屋への帰路につきました。

今回の研修は、全員にとって初めてのベトナム旅行でしたが、皆が「またこの活気に満ち、美しく、そしてとても温かく迎えてくれる国を訪れたい」と感じる、忘れられない経験となりました。

During the spring break, 14 students from Grades 2~5 became the first group from Saint Joseph to visit Vietnam. After a 6-hour flight to Ho Chi Minh and connecting domestic flight, we spent the first three full days in Vietnam’s third-largest city, Da Nang. We spent much of the time in Da Nang at the extensive and beautiful FPT campus, interacting with students from the secondary and high schools. We enjoyed a wide variety of fun activities together, learning about Vietnamese culture and sharing our own, as well as experiencing the Vietnamese martial art, Vovinam. Everyone in our group was delighted by the warm welcome from our hosts, and many new friends were made. On the final day in Da Nang, we were given a comprehensive guided tour of the Da Nang offices of FPT Software and introduced to the business of what is one of the largest software service companies in Vietnam. After departing Da Nang, we traveled the short distance to Hoi An. Highlights of our one-night stay there included the chance to play with some children at CHIA (Children’s Hope in Action), a charity that provides services for disadvantaged children and their families, and the opportunity to walk through Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating from the 15th century. On our final day in central Vietnam we visited Ba Na Hills, a tourist destination best known for its iconic Golden Bridge, before heading back to Da Nang Airport for our flight to Ho Chi Minh. A one-night hotel stay in the heart of the city was followed by a full day of sightseeing in and around Vietnam’s largest city. This included visits to Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive network of tunnels created by Viet Cong soldiers during the Vietnam War, the War Remnants Museum, which left a very deep impression on us all, the historic Saigon Central Post Office and Ben Thanh Market. Our final destination was Saigon Skydeck, which gave us a magnificent nighttime view over the whole city. Finally, after a very busy and exciting six days, we returned to the airport for our return flight to Nagoya. This was the first visit to Vietnam for everyone in the group, but we all agreed that we would like to return to this vibrant, beautiful and very welcoming country again.
